The Journey Behind the Mission
My name is Corey Jones Jr., and I’m the proud founder of Louisiana Sports. I was born on January 24 and raised in New Orleans, a city full of strength, family, and culture. My journey hasn’t been easy—but every moment has shaped me into who I am today.
In February 2022, I lost my mother. It was a devastating moment that shook my entire world. I was still young, still growing—but I knew I had to turn that pain into purpose. That loss became the reason I started looking for a new direction in life.
In 2023, I found a program called Step Up Aim High, and it changed everything. Surrounded by role models and mentors, I realized I had a voice and a responsibility to use it. I discovered that leadership doesn't wait for age—it starts with passion and action.
During that same time in 2023, I was blessed to meet three incredible classmates who changed my life—Kylee, D'Myri, and Lawrence. They didn’t just become my friends—they became my support system. They stood by me during the darkest moments after losing my mom, and they helped remind me that I wasn’t alone. Their kindness, their laughter, and their belief in me played a huge part in my healing. I truly believe I wouldn’t be who I am today without them.
On September 21, 2024, I launched Louisiana Sports to give youth across Louisiana a space to grow through sports, mentorship, and unity. It was a bold step, but one I knew I had to take.
Toward the end of 2024, I faced a tough season. I made some mistakes and found myself in serious trouble—trouble that nearly pulled me away from the mission I built. But I stayed grounded. I asked for help. I chose growth. And on June 23, 2025, I was cleared and relieved of those challenges. That day didn’t just mark the end of a tough chapter—it marked a powerful new beginning.
Today, I stand stronger than ever, leading with truth and purpose. I created Louisiana Sports not just to promote games, but to create life-changing opportunities for kids like me—kids who need a second chance, a place to belong, and someone to believe in them.
This is more than a sports platform. It’s a movement. And I’m just getting started.
